There is a business that is easy for anyone to get into that is often overlooked by marketers. I’ve mentioned this a lot recently, and for good reason – it is the best way to get started in the process of creating your own products.

You know all about writing and selling ebooks. If you’re on many lists at all, you’ve seen a LOT of offers for downloadable ebooks. And there is no shortage of “GURUS” that are recommending that everyone create their own products.

There are courses out there that will walk you through the process. But writing a 50-100+ page book can be a long and tiring task. And if it doesn’t sell, you’ve wasted a lot of valuable time.

The business model of Small Reports is just as profitable, yet a lot less work and easier to do. Your job is to create 7-15 page small reports.

Jimmy D. Brown is the creator of Small Reports Fortune, a step by step guide to creating a profitable information business. Here is a sample taken from the paid course:

How To Make A Small Fortune Online With Small Reports

Hello, this is Jimmy D. Brown. Welcome to Small Reports Fortune where I’m going to teach you “How To Make A Small Fortune Online With Small Reports”.

We’ll talk at length about how to do this, but I want to kind of encapsulate everything into one opening statement as we begin our presentation –

The ultimate information business is finding a target audience and then convincing them to make repeated purchases from you.

An age-old marketing law is this: “it’s much easier to sell MORE to existing customers than it is to find new customers to sell to”. Your information business stands to gain serious momentum when you offer multiple, related offers to your customer base.

Instead of selling a customer a $20 ebook and then looking for the next customer, you’ll want to setup a system to offer her a $20 ebook, then a $40 product, then a $497 product and finally a $1997 offer. (These are just “generalities”, of course)

And it’s all going to build upon this foundation of creating short, 7-15 page reports.

The important thing is to get your existing customers to spend MORE money with you. Learn this: the more money each customer spends with you, the less customers you’ll need to reach $100K per year.

The idea is simple: get your target audience (subscribers + customers) to repeatedly spend money with you.

Once you have worked to secure a customer or subscriber, why not allow them to spend as much money with you as they are willing?

I’m not suggesting that you exploit your relationship with others and coerce them into purchasing sub-par products or things they don’t really have a need to buy. I’m talking about making products and services available that provide genuine usefulness to those who are in a position to buy.

There’s a big, big difference between these two statements:

“This product is going to change your business forever … it’s the best product I’ve seen in months … if you don’t buy this today, then you’re absolutely nuts … it’s what I consider to be a ‘must-have’ for anyone who’s serious!”

“If you’re ready to XYZ, then I’ve found this product to be very beneficial in my own business. I use it myself and here are the results that I’ve achieved. I highly recommend it and will even give you a free copy of XYZ if you are one of the first 50 who buy it.”

Both are attempting to get the sale. But one is full of hype and the other is reasonable.

Back to my point. You need to get your target audience to buy from you. And buy again. And again. And again.

Despite popular belief, you can do this without being a money-hungry, conscious-less, in-your-face, psychological mind-games coercer. (That’s a mouthful, huh?!)

So, that’s the backdrop of the Small Reports Fortune course. I’m going to teach you how to -

CHOOSE a market, CREATE small reports to sell to them and CASH-IN on your own money-making information business.

What I want to teach you to do in this series is to create small, 7-15 page reports that you sell to your list members in the $10-$20 range…and how to spiral them into premium-priced offers down the road.

You can make a “small fortune” with “small reports” – and I’m going to show you how to do it.

Here’s what it looks like 12 months from now:

You have 12 reports available for $10 each. (One per month) Customers buy the first one and, in time, buy most of the others. (Multiple customer purchases)

You put together package deals of 12 reports for $97. (Larger chunks of cash per transaction)

You launch an affiliate program for the $97 package and sell large quantities of the bundle. (Affiliates love ~$50 commission per order!)

You use your reports to launch “high ticket” offers that sell for $1,000 or more. (Skyrocket your profit!)

You make a “small fortune” with “small reports” (Yes, YOU!)

And it all begins right here.

End of Sample

A lot of people use affiliate marketing in their businesses. In fact, a lot of the “Gurus” of the marketing world are affiliates. And there are countless products being sold that offer commissions to affiliates.

I like affiliate marketing. So do product owners. But here’s something to think about…

Let’s use an example of a product that offers a 50 percent commission on a product that sells for $50. Every time someone purchase the product through your link, you get $25 and the seller gets $25.

Here’s where it gets interesting. The seller didn’t have to do anything to get the customer to his sales page. He didn’t pay any money on advertising or write articles. He set up his sales system and offered to pay affiliates a commission.

On the other hand, to get your $25 commission for each sale, you had to get people to click on your link. You had to set up a web site and create an offer. Or you had to post to your blog. Or you wrote and submitted articles. Or you paid for advertising.

You had to get traffic to your offer. It cost you in either time or money. If you paid for advertising, you end up making less than $25 for each sale. Sometimes a lot less. And the seller is always going to make his or her $25 because he didn’t have to pay for the traffic with either time or money.

So affiliate marketing is a nice way to make an income, but it’s better to be the one who is selling the product in the first place.

If you’re going to go to the effort of creating review pages and writing and submitting articles to promote a product, why not use all of that effort to create your own product? Then you can get your own affiliates driving traffic to your site.

You get to keep the $25 that you get for each sale, because the affiliate is the one who paid for the traffic. It’s a lot more profitable, and you can do it too.

These days one of the hottest topics is creating and selling your own products. You get to keep all of the profits. Or you can get a lot of your own affiliates to do the selling and traffic generation for you and pay them a commission.

However you look at it, it’s one of the best ways to grow your business. But of course the problem that most people seem to have is that they don’t think they can create their own product.

If you’ve purchased as many ebooks and courses as I have over the last 8-10 years, you’d know that there are a lot of products that are bad – very bad.

I think what holds most of us back is that it seems to hard and that it will take months to get a product ready to market.

That’s why I am a big fan of small reports. There are a couple of reasons for this. One is that it doesn’t take a lot of time to create a 10-15 page report. If it doesn’t sell, you haven’t wasted a lot of time and energy on it, and you can move on to your next idea.

Then there is the fact that a small report will be inexpensive. It’s a lot harder to get someone to spend $47 or $97, especially if they don’t know you and this is your first product. If you pack a lot of info into your small report and don’t charge a lot for it, it’s going to be a lot easier to get people to buy your product.

There are a lot of bigger name marketers doing this right now. They are selling small reports for around $20 each, and they’re adding more all of the time. So this isn’t something that used to work and doesn’t anymore. Chris Rempel has The Conduit Method, along with a few other small reports. Jimmy D. Brown has a selection of small reports available at SRZone.

If you’re not good at typing or don’t think that you can write anything yourself, you could record yourself talking about your topic, and having someone else transcribe it for you. Or you could use a software program such as Dragon Naturally Speaking that will allow you to speak into a microphone and have the words appear in your document.

Or you could create an audio and sell it that way. The point is that small reports are one of the easiest ways to create your own product, and you can do it.

Your own product. The goal, the ultimate achievement, the road to financial success. It’s what we all want. It’s the golden key to all of our dreams. Yet it can seem so far away. It’s something we’ll do someday. It’s too hard now, we don’t know where to start. Someday…

How about right now? Is it possible for you to create your own information product and start selling it in the next few days?

If you’ve purchased a few information products in the past, you’ll notice that a lot of them aren’t very big. There aren’t a lot of pages of content, but the information is good. Nothing fancy, but worth the price.

Ever purchased any of those $7 reports? Or the reports that cost under $20? What you’ll see is that there aren’t a lot of pages, and the content is tightly focused on the subject. It doesn’t cover every aspect of the subject, but details a certain tip or technique.

A good example is The Conduit Method. It’s a small report priced at under $20. It’s about making full time income with affiliate marketing. So the main subject it covers is affiliate marketing. But it doesn’t try to cover every way to successfully sell affiliate products. It focuses on a WAY to sell affiliate products. It focuses on one technique that works and is making profits.

An information product doesn’t have to cover everything about a subject. That’s why it’s frustrating when you read posts on forums from people who want to create a product and don’t know where to start.

They make it too complicated. They think they have to spend weeks and months writing the ultimate guide on their topic. They think that they have to produce video and audio, and they don’t have any idea how to do it.

They don’t realize that there are very successful marketers selling short reports and making a lot of money in the process. Reports like The Conduit Method. Or Jimmy D.Brown’s SRZone – Low Priced, High Content Small Reports for under $20. Or all of the $7 reports that are selling right now.

Creating a small information product doesn’t take long. Working a few hours, you can have a report written, converted to PDF, set up your sales page and start taking orders.

What if you create your product and it doesn’t sell a lot of copies? So what? Create a new report every week, and pretty soon you’ll have a lot of your own products to sell. You’ll have multiple chances to sell multiple products.

There are people who are making six figures selling small reports. They aren’t any smarter than you, and they aren’t better than you. They’ve just figured out a way that works to create a full time income from the Internet.

Now it’s your turn. You can create your own products. You can be successful. All it takes is a little work and the willingness to learn. Click here to get started…

If you’ve ever had a hard time getting yourself to write any type of content, you know first hand how difficult it is. It’s kind of like running in waist deep water – very difficult with not much in the way of results.

There are many possible reasons that “writer’s block” occurs. One of the roadblocks that I seem to face most often is not feeling that I have the ability to write anything that anyone would want to read.

This fear and doubt makes it next to impossible to get myself to write anything. So I put it off until later, only to come up against the same feeling when I do try again.

But I have come up with a nice way to boost my confidence and get myself in a writing frame of mind.

What I do is go to one of the popular article directories. I go to the category that my article idea relates to. And I read a few articles.

What does this do? Well, believe it or not, there are some awful articles that are on the sites. I mean, they are terrible, hard to read, and don’t offer much if any value.

Read a few of these articles, and you’ll soon see that you can do much better than these authors. This can be an immediate boost to your confidence. If people who write almost unreadable articles can get their article listed in these directories, you can get your article listed as well.

Of course your article will be much better. There’s not much point in only being as good as the worst article.

The other advantage of reading through some of these articles is that you will find some absolutely great articles. Use these articles to guide you in writing your own great article. Don’t copy the content, just learn from how the author makes the article easy to read, and try to do the same with your own article.

Can you really earn 6 figures a year writing small reports? You bet you can. Click here for more information and a free, content filled report…

Private label rights are attractive to marketers because it removes the difficulty of having to write content themselves. There are quite a few inexpensive sources of private label rights products out there, from monthly membership sites to sites that sell individual products or collections of content for a few dollars.

You can take a private label rights product and try to sell it as is. There are two potentially huge problems that can arise that will make it next to impossible to make any sales.

The first problem is that you may not be the only one who decides to sell the exact same report. They may even be giving it away. So you have to get people to buy the report from you, knowing that there is a good chance that your customer will find out that they could have gotten the same product for free.

How likely is that customer to buy from you again? To respond to your email promotions for affiliate products? Not very good.

The second problem is that a lot of these private label rights products are NOT GOOD! The content is full of fluff and filler. The writing is hard to read, and the content doesn’t live up to the promise made in the headline or sales page for the product.

You may sell a few, but at best you’ll get a lot of refund requests. At worst, you’ll have angry customers who will never buy from you again.

If you’re going to use private label rights products to create your own product, make it unique. Change the headline, the graphics, and the content. Read through the content and take notes on areas where you could add to the content. Explain it more clearly.

Rewrite the report in your own words, and maybe mix up the order of the chapters. Once you do this, you’ll have a unique product. You won’t have to worry about anyone else having the same product as you. And you’ll have a better chance of making sales and having satisfied customers.

I still recommend that you write your own small report. It doesn’t take long, and anyone can do it. But if you do decide to use private label rights products to use as your own product, make it unique and special.

A strategy to get people to sign up for your list is to create a report that you give away in exchange for your visitors name and email address. While this is an effective way to build your list, you may find that you end up with subscribers that don’t buy from you.

That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t give away content to build your list.

Let’s say you write a small report that has useful content. You decide to sell it for a few dollars instead of giving it away. Offer it for $7, $9.95, $12.95, or $17. The idea is to make it a low risk investment for your visitors.

It’s a lot easier to get someone to part with a few dollars to take a chance on your product than it is to create a larger course and trying to get people to buy it. Especially if you’re just getting started and don’t have a large list or joint venture partners.

It’s true that you’ll get more people to download your report if you give it away for free in exchange for a subscriber. But if you sell the report instead, you’ll build a list of BUYERS instead of a list of freebie seekers.

Once someone buys your report, they have shown that they will spend money with you. If they’re happy with the quality and usefulness of your report, they are more likely to spend money with you again in the future.

In your follow-up email messages, you can offer any new reports you create, including more expensive products. You can also send offers for affiliate products as well.

Once you have a list of buyers, it’s a lot easier to get JV partners because you’ll have proof that what you create is selling and will make both of you money. And your existing customers will often buy from you over and over again.

A way to get them more likely to buy your next report or more expensive product is to offer it as a customer only discount, or offer bonuses that are only available for previous customers. You won’t have to spend advertising dollars for these sales, so offering a lower price won’t hurt your profits.

You may have a great product that you want to sell, but you need to demonstrate that you provide value before you can get people to spend money with you. Selling small reports can be an easy way to get people into your sales funnel. The reports won’t take long to create, and could be the way to establish yourself in your market.

You can create an information product and offer it for sale. You could create a small report that you offer for a few dollars, and promote it using the $7 Dollar Method. You could create a small report that you give away to promote your site.

Giving away small reports, or “viral pdf’s” are a hot topic with the recent launch of a site that offers access to these reports for free. There are quite a few affiliate products that offer reports that you can rebrand with your affiliate link and give away.

If you’re an affiliate marketer, you may not be interested in writing small reports. If you’re promoting your own business, it is one of the most powerful and low cost ways there is to build your business.

Most of the time, you’re going to have to spend some money to get the right information. But not today.
