How To Avoid The 3 Big Mistakes Of Web Site Creation

Does the thought of creating your own web site keep you from doing anything about it? Does it seem like there is too much to learn, and that you’ll never figure it out? Let’s go over 3 things that are likely holding you back from getting your own web site created and getting traffic and sales.
Mistake 1. You need to spend hundreds of dollars on the software to create your web sites.
There is a lot of advice on what software you need to create a web site. One of the most recommended products, Dreamweaver, costs almost $400. You can also get the software to create web sites for less than $100. Buying the software will not create web sites for you. You have to learn how to use it.
The big lie here is that you need to pay for the most expensive software to create a good web site. That’s simply not true. You can use free software to create as many professional web pages and web sites as you want. Don’t let the expense of the recommended software keep you from getting started.
Mistake 2. To get the graphics you need for your site – headers, buttons, images, ebook covers – you need to spend a lot of money on software, or pay someone to do it for you.
Once again, this is simply not true. If you are just getting started, don’t be fooled into thinking that you need to spend a lot of money to get graphics for your site. There are free graphics programs that will allow you to create your own graphics. And you don’t need to shell out the hundreds of dollars for Photoshop to get great looking graphics. You can spend less than $100 and still create all of the graphics that your sites will need.
Mistake 3. You have to spend a lot of money to get a quality web hosting account.
Again, not true. The monthly cost of web hosting can vary widely. The truth is that paying a lot for web hosting does not necessarily mean that your site will work better. You do have to be careful when you’re shopping for web site hosting. But it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. You can get quality hosting for less than $10 a month.
Creating a web site does not have to cost a lot of money. And it is not difficult to learn how to do it. You can have a web site up in a matter of days for a lot less than $100.

Let me ask you a question. How many web sites do you visit that don’t have a header graphic? I would guess that there aren’t very many. A web site that doesn’t have graphics on it looks…how can I put this?…DULL!
The thing on a web page that draws your attention is the graphics, and most importantly, the header graphic. The image at the top of most web pages.
We know that a header graphic is important for our site, but that creates a problem of its own. How are we going to get the header graphics we need for our sites?
We could pay someone to create a header image for us. We would have to come up with a theme or an idea that we could present to someone so that they could make a graphic that would fit our site. Let’s say you pay $50 for your image. Not too bad if you have one site. If you want to change the header, or if you have multiple sites, that could run into a lot of money.
You could buy packages of pre-made header graphics. You can easily find headers in a lot of different categories that may work for your site. One problem with this approach is that you can find yourself with a collection of 50 or 100 header graphics, and only find one or two that you can use on your site. The other problem is that you won’t be the only one using these headers. You have to decide if you’re OK with that or not. You should also find out if you can edit these headers or not. If you can, do you have the software available so you can do it?
Speaking of software, you could purchase the software that you need to create the header graphics for yourself. That way, you could create as many headers as you wanted. Of course, you would have to pay for the software and take the time to learn how to use it.

The Perils Of Using Free Blog Sites

Recently, there were a couple of interesting posts on the Warrior Forum that talked about the potential problem of using free blogging sites. One post was about how someone put a lot of work into blogger blogs, and then found out that all of their blogs were deleted. The other post was about using wordpress.com to post reviews and getting all of their blogs deleted. The links to both of these threads is at the bottom of this article.
The point to remember is that these free sites have policies that you have to follow if you want to keep your account. In the case of wordpress.com, it appears that they aren’t going to tolerate people using this free as a platform to sell stuff. You can use the site to get traffic to your money pages, but you have to be very careful.
To protect yourself, before you spend a lot of time creating content and posting to any free site, carefully read all of their terms of service to see what they allow and what they won’t allow. And do a search on related forums to see if you can find tips on using these sites.
If you host your blogs on your own hosting account, you won’t have this problem. You can promote to your heart’s content and not have to worry about your sites being shut down. Of course you will have to spend a couple of bucks on hosting, but you won’t be taking a chance that the time you put into your sites will be wasted.
These sites are worth using, and they can get you good backlinks to your money site. Just make sure that you follow their rules so you can get the full benefit of what they offer.

Wordpress.com is a site where you can create a blog for free, and they have rules you have to follow. A wordpress blog is the blog software that you host on your own domain and hosting account. You do have to abide by the terms of service of your hosting provider, but you have a lot more flexiblility if you host a blog on your own site.
