Tips And Strategies For Effective Online Marketing
Dressing Up Your WordPress Blog
Setting up a WordPress blog is quick and easy. Even easier if have web hosting with cpanel with fantastico. You can have your blog installed with a few clicks of your mouse.
One thing you’ll notice is that the default theme, or appearance of your blog, is pretty bland. The good news is that there are hundreds of free themes that you can use instead. To get an idea of what is available, you do a search for “wordpress themes” to come up with several sites that have access to themes youi can use.
Two that I really like are located at:
http://themes.wordpress.net
This site has a collection of wordpress themes with graphical and textual previews. There are several sorting options you can choose from on the left side of the page to narrow down your search. You can sort by date, title, and downloads. You can preview each theme so you can see exactly how it’s going to look. There are several layout options, such as 1, 2, 3, or 4 column themes.
http://www.wpthemesfree.com
This site is very similar to the previous one. With this site you can search for theme categories as well. There are categories for business, computers, games, music, travel, gifts, and many more. This makes it easier to find a theme related to your niche.
I also came across a free WordPress Theme Generator where you can select different options on the left side of the page using a menu. You can see the results immediately on the right side of the screen. Once you are satisfied with the results, you can download the theme for use on your site. The WordPress Theme Generator is a bit limited in what you can do, but is worth taking a look at. You can access it by going to http://www.yvoschaap.com/wpthemegen/
If you don’t have a blog, it’s easy to get started. Get a hosting account, set up your wordpress blog, install a theme, and you’re ready to go.
