What do you do if you want to build a list, but you hate to write? If you hate to write, or even worse, your typing skills are limited to the “hunt and peck” method, you can still build a list.

You can record yourself talking about what you would have typed, and have it transcribed. You can also play around with one of the voice recognition software packages available. You will still probably have to do some editing, but you can get someone else to do it for you.

If you decide to do this, why not experiment with an audio newsletter? Instead of going to all of the work of creating a text email, you can upload your audio recording to your site, and let subscribers listen to each issue of your newsletter.

Then every time another audio is available, you can send a short email to your list with the topic and instructions on how to access the audio.

You have to decide if you want to make the audio available as a download, or if you want subscribers to listen to it online. If you only offer it as a download, try to keep the file size manageable.

There is an advantage to having subscribers listen online. You can put adwords, affiliate links, and a subscription form on the page you use for access to your audio. You get the chance to promote products and make money from your subscribers.

You can get a free open source software for recording. It’s called Audacity and you can get it at http://audacity.sourceforge.net
